FACT(s) (Environment):
UNIX
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.0A
SYMPTOM(s):
UTF-8 is not included within International settings during installation on UNIX
UTF-8 can be chosen during installation on Windows
CAUSE:
This is expected behavior. OpenEdge 10.0A doesn't support UTF-8 for ChUI client. International Settings during the installation process initially configure the startup.pf file for the client connection. Allowing it in the UNIX install would create a possibility of invalid startup.pf for use by the ChUI client.
FIX:
Choose the code page in the International Settings that is available on the list during the install. If needed adjust the startup.pf file after the installation.
