SYMPTOM(s):
Starting a Progress / OpenEdge application from an icon on the Windows desktop creates one or more files in / on windows desktop.
Several icons are created on the desktop when starting results.
Icons names similar to the following were created:
ibi03984, sports001.r, sports002.r, sportsmt.p, srt03984, ptdbmt.r...
Results was started from a windows short cut specifying the 'start in' working directory as C:\PROGRESS\WRK.
When launching a Progress Explorer icon from the Desktop in Windows an admclnt.log file is being created on the desktop.
CAUSE:
The temporary working directory specified by the 'start in' entry of the shortcut or by the Temporary Directory (-T) startup parameter does not exist.
FIX:
Ensure that the directory specified by the 'start in' entry of the shortcut or by the Temporary Directory (-T) startup parameter exists and is spelled correctly.
