GOAL:
What is the Before-image Writer (BIW)
FIX:
A background process that the Progress database manager uses to write data to the before-image file on behalf of servers. It frees servers from this task, enabling them to do more work on behalf of clients.
This process can be started with an Enterprise Database license only; it's not available with a Workgroup or a Personal Database license.
