SYMPTOM(s):
The error occurs after executing the STRPRONET command/utility (to start the TCP/IP broker) only if the QTCPIP job is not running
The job log (witin AS/400) shows that an error was detected by the user defined validity checker program
CAUSE:
The QTCPIP job must be running on the AS/400 before starting the TCP/IP broker via the STRPRONET utility
FIX:
To verify that the tcp/ip is available, look for the job QTCPIP in the subsystem QSYSWRK. If this job is not present, the OS/400 command to start it is STRTCP. This command initializes and activates tcp/ip processing.
