WAITING FOR MESSAGES in LOG FILES on VMS ... READ THIS

With the 6.2L release on VMS there is a new message that may appear
in the log file which people seem to be worried about. The new
message is

Waiting for 6 0 0 0 0.

This simply means that the user is waiting for a lock. The first 3
numbers are as follows:

1 - The lock user is waiting for
2 - Who the MT holder is (if any)
3 - Who the DB holder is (if any)
4,5 - used internally to Progress and of no value to customers.

The first number (lock user is waiting for) can be any of the
following:
Number Resource waiting for
1 waiting for a record lock
2 waiting for a schema lock
3 waiting for another task to end
4 waiting for an index lock
5 waiting for a record get
6 waiting for a .db block read
7 waiting for a .db block write
8 waiting for a .db block to be backed up
9 waiting for a share lock on a buffer
10 waiting for an exclusive lock on a buffer
11 waiting for a shared buffer
13 waiting for .bi block read
14 waiting for an .ai block read
15 waiting for an .ai block write
