SYMPTOM(s):
The instruction at 0x... referenced memory at 0x... The memory cannot be read.
GPF occurs when trying to start a database using Progress Explorer.
GPF also occurs when trying to start a database using the proserve.bat script.
Reinstall will not resolve the problem.
The database log ends abruptly, with no error messages.
CAUSE:
The PROMSGS environment variable is set to an invalid location.
FIX:
Be sure the PROMSGS environment variable points to valid PROMSGS file/location.
