Invalid Windows system date can cause PROGRESS to GPF
If you set the Windows system date to year 2050 or later, this
can cause PROGRESS to GPF. To correct this problem, just set your
system date correctly. The GPF results from the Microsoft C run
time library that converts a date in seconds after the base date to
hours, minutes, seconds, day, month & year. The library routine
cannot process system dates after 2050.
If you enable drwatson, you will see this GPF happening inside the
_fdGetTime function on the top of the DrWatson log. The PROGRESS
application will most likely fail at startup. For example, the
PROVision Desktop can be started, but the UIB will GPF at startup.
