SYMPTOM(s):
After a number of users log into database, all process hang
New user connections hang; no error message
Promon session hangs
Proshut session hangs. Removal of .lk file only way to shutdown database
FACT(s) (Environment):
IBM AIX POWER 5.1
Progress 9.1D
CHANGE:
Altered the database startup parameters, doubling the -n value, which in turn affected the other parameters -Mn, -Ma -Mi.
CAUSE:
The exact cause is unknown at the time of this writing
FIX:
Increase the -n parameter to be higher then -Mn * -Ma.
