AS/400 V8.0C00 New Product Feature PROSET file
V8.0C New Feature PROSET
PROSET is an empty file that is shipped with the V8.0C00 Product and
resides in the PROGRESS/400 product library. It's purpose is to
contain settings needed throughtout Progress/400 to guide processing.
It's current use is to change two default settings, MAPPING OF VARIANT
CHARACTERS and SELECT/OMIT processing. (Please see the V8.0C00 release
notes for more information). Since the file resides in the
Progress/400 product library, the settings file applies to any and all
dictionary librairies created using that product. The default of MAP-
VARIANT-CHARACTERS is YES and ALLOW-SELECT-OMIT-INDEXES is YES.
If you want to change these settings you must use some type of AS/400
utility, such as DFU Data File Utility, to add or change records in
the PROSET file. You will be presented with three (3) fields:
KEY01:
SETTING:
VALUE:
Enter the following information:
KEY01: CHGPRODCT (must be in CAPS. This is always the key)
SETTING: MAP-VARIANT-CHARACTERS or ALLOW-SELECT-OMIT-INDEXES (must be
in CAPS). If you need to change both of the default settings you will
need to enter two records.
VALUE: YES or NO (must be in CAPS) depending on the setting you want
If no record is present, or the record information is entered incor-
rectly in the PROSET file, the default values are assumed.
After this file is created you must run CHGPROGDCT to have your
selection take effect.
