FACT(s) (Environment):
Sun Solaris SPARC
SYMPTOM(s):
Attempting to run SmartDataObject against an AppServer
AppServer is running on a different machine than the client application
Database <db name> not connected. (1006)
CAUSE:
The ADM2 runtime support code was not copied to the Sun Solaris machine. The ADM2 runtime code is only installed on Windows. Since the ADM2 runtime code is considered to be part of your application, you are required to install it on the AppServer along with the rest of your application.
FIX:
Copy the $DLC/tty/adm2 directory to a location on your Sun Solaris machine then ensure that the AppServers PROPATH contains a reference to the directory which has the "adm2" directory underneath it.
