GOAL:
What is a CorVu calendar file?
GOAL:
Will changing the operating system date-time affect the CorVu calendar?
FIX:
Several CorVu components use the CorVu internal default calendar. For example, the scheduler uses the default and sub-calendars to include and exclude days, and run reports based on fiscal calendar dates.
There are two types of calendar file -
- main calendar (default.ca1)
- sub-calendar (country.ca2 and state.ca2)
default.ca1 contains definitions for the fiscal year, while the sub-calendars include e.g. public holidays.
The CorVu calendar files are text files that reside in the CorVu installation directory. They can be edited using text editor such as Notepad, and are not affected by changes made to operating system date-time.
The CorVu Scheduler will be affected by changes to the operating system in that if a query is scheduled to run on e.g. 12 Jan 2004, and on 11 Jan 2004 the operating system date is put back to 12 Jan 2003, a year will elapse before that query is scheduled to run. If the os date is then put forward to 14 Jan 2004, the scheduled query will have missed its date and will not run.
