FIX:
No, there are currently no plans to expand the database area size limitations.
The limitations associated with database area size are based on records per block and database blocksize. The area size limitation stems from the format of rowids. Rowids are currently 32 bits. Expanding them could be done, but is not currently planned or scheduled.
