Memory errors under 6.2L : MUST RE-COMPILE UNDER L RELEASE
Users who develop on a PROGRESS release prior to 6.2L and then try to
deploy to PROGRESS 6.2L will likely encounter memory-oriented memory
errors, such as s/e 49 or 52.
PROGRESS's means of managing memory internally was modified with the
6.2L release. Pre-compiled .r code WILL NOT WORK with 6.2L unless it
is re-compiled against the higher release.
Developers/VARs must either:
(1) upgrade the development license to 6.2L so that they can release
pre-compiled .r code at the "L" level, or
(2) must deploy encrypted source code from a development-platform
Toolkit environment and then re-compile with the -rx option
under the production 6.2L release.
