Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.0A Beta
SYMPTOM(s):
Invalid character in numeric input (76)
When creating the dataserver schema for MSS after it does the initial pull from
all the tables in the MSS DB the dialog with the title "Transferring MSS
definition". During this process, error 76's displayed multiple times on different objects.
The number of error 76's matches the number of int fields with initial value defined as '-1'
The sesssion eventually crashes
Datadirect ODBC driver and Microsoft driver both fail
In 9.1D both drivers work, no errors
CAUSE:
Bug 20031125-042
CAUSE:
When changing SQL default of int field to -1 using MSS Enterprise Manager, when the change was saved, the default became ((-1)). The the Progress function that handled initial values cannot handle this string.
This is occurring in OE because a field's SQL default is being assigned to Progress initial value when a PULL is performed using "Create MSS Dataserver Schema". V9 did not do this so it was never a problem.
FIX:
The bug is fixed in OpenEdge 10.
