SYMPTOM(s):
Oracle Data Server saturates the memory and does not release it.
Memory leak on Oracle Data Server
_orasrv processes remain after the broker is stopped.
CAUSE:
The problem is caused by two factors:
1) Memory leak bugs.
2) _orasrv processes that remain on memory because of abrupt disconnections.
_orasrv remains on memory as long as the client session is open independently if the broker is running or not. If the Data Server session is disconnected abruptly it will leave a server waiting for reconnection.
FIX:
Apply patch 9.1C20 to fix the memory leaks and run the watch dog to clean up after abrupt disconnections:
prowdog <holder name.db>
