(Error code -16006) [suspect temp file directory WRKDIR not defined]

Conversion completed, database is now in version 9 format. (6525)
Conv89 finished successfully in database logfile.
CAUSE:
MKSCHEMA utility failed during conv89.
FIX:
Manually run the MKSCHEMA against the database.
"mkschema dbname".
Ensure that the $DLC environment is set correctly prior to running mkschema.
