error 24 (98) NFILES increase SFNOLIM HFNOLIM AT&T Unix v.4

DRAFT COPY - Currently under review and edit.

INTRODUCTION:
=============
This knowledgebase entry describes what to do when increasing the
NFILES kernel parameter does not resolve error 24 (98).

WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:
===========================
If you are using AT&T's flavor of Unix v.4 then you should know that
the NFILES parameter is now obsolete and has been replaced by
SFNOLIM (soft file number limit) and HFNOLIM (hard file number limit).

PROCEDURAL APPROACH:
====================
If you are using AT&T's flavor of Unix v.4, increasing the NFILES
parameter will not resolve error 24 (98). Rather you must increase
the SFNOLIM parameter. The default is 40 hex (64). Increasing it to
100 hex (256) should typically be enough, although there are known
cases where this parameter has been increased as high as 400 hex.
