SYMPTOM(s):
Error (1175) occurs in database logfile
Maximum number of shared-memory segments per process exceeded. (1175)
SHMMAX and SHMSEG kernel parameters were increased and problem persists
Reboot of system does not resolve the problem
CAUSE:
sysdef -i shows the values of kernel parameters. The kernel changes made were not being saved after the reboot.
FIX:
Contact Sun to resolve the problem with the problem with the kernel parameters not taking effect.
