CAUSE:
Bug # 20021024-029
Description: Server loops with specific CONTAINS query
CAUSE:
This is a known issue, Progress Bug. The issue is related to a query that has the CONTAINS clause. When this query is executed and the same table has been queried previously, the client will hang and the server will eat up CPU, without ever getting back to the client process
FIX:
The workaround is to run a FOR LAST on the same table / buffer before the query with CONTAINS. It seems as this releases some cache in the server side.
This issue has been fixed in 9.1C PATCH and 9.1D05 and after. Please note that for Progress 9.1C, the following Operating Systems have been patched.
