CAUSE:
Bug# 20000118-002
CAUSE:
The problem with ProService was caused by a reentrancy problem. When ProService attemptes to start or stop a database, it checks for completion by looking for the database lock file AND the _mprosrv process. On a busy system, the lock file is deleted but the _mprosrv process may not exit immediately. This exposed a timing problem in ProService.
FIX:
The issue has been fixed on patches; Progress 8.3B22 and 9.0B25.
The issue has been fixed on commerical releases Progress 8.3C,9.1A,9.1B
