GOAL:
Why does probkup report that it requires more space than the actual backup ?
FIX:
The value that is reported by probkup at the beginning of the backup process is just an estimate. This value does not always correspond with the actual amount which is being backed up. Empty blocks are not backed up. The "-scan" option should give you a more accurate estimate for the backup, but it cannot be used with an online backup.
