Encountered image resource failure when realizing <widget>. (2290)
CAUSE:
This problem is caused by the algorithm by which images are drawn to screen.
Progress has no control over the actual image rendering algorythm used. This is something between the Operating System and the hardware; Progress only reports what is returned from the OS.
FIX:
Windows 9x has an option to set the level of "Hardware Acceleration" for the graphics adapter. Open System Properties (from Control Panel, or right click on "My Computer"), and select the "Performance" tab. Click the "Graphics" button and set the Hardware Accelerator slider to all the way down to 'None'.
If the problem disappears, then you can again start increasing the Hardware Accelerator slider one step at a time until the problem reappears to find the best position.
The slider should be set as high as possible without reaching the problem.
