GOAL:
Can writes to a Progress 8.3x database log file be suppressed?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 8.3x
FIX:
With Progress version 8.3x there is no method to suppress messages being written to the database log file. The only method Progress endorses to remove messages from a database log file is through the use of the PROLOG command. The PROLOG command will truncate a database's log file leaving the last 50 lines of the log file. However, the Progress database must be shut down prior to using this command.
EXAMPLE: prolog DBname (no file extension is required on the DBname.)
