GOAL:
Why does Progress recommend having a current backup of a damaged database?
FIX:
It is simply good practice to have a current backup of the database before performing any repairs. The dbrpr utility has several options and the user may want to try several of these on the same damaged database. The user may for example reformat a series of blocks by mistake and then want to start again - if there is no backup valuable data may be lost.
