SYMPTOM(s):
dbanalys command returns to Operating System prompt without generating output.
proutil dbname -C dbanalys does not generate output.
Tabanalys and ixanalys exhibit same behavior as dbanalys
Sometimes errors are reported in log file, other times no errors reported.
Error opening file <file-name>, errno = <errno>. (4029)
Error opening file dbname.lk, errno = 13. (4029)
Unable to open <file-name>, errno = <error code>. (1295)
Unable to open dbname.lic, errno = 13. (1295)
Database may be local to machine or NFS mounted.
Owner of database .lic and .lk file may have large numbers instead of user login and group.
CHANGE:
Upgraded from 8.3B to 8.3C
CAUSE:
Problem is caused by root not having permissions to the directory where the database resides.
FIX:
Change directory permissions to allow root access.
