SYMPTOM(s):

Prolib / Proctrl are not in use.

No references from previous releases of Progress are present as environment variables.

No references from previous releases of Progress are present in the Registry.

There are no Progress services running on the system.

Installation fails with error.

Error: Proctrl.exe already in use

Error: Prolib.exe already in use

CAUSE:

There are conflicts with Progress Install shield and AntiVirus software.

FIX:

Temporarily deactivate any AntiVirus software that might be present (Inoculan/Inoculate, Norton, McAfee) by removing the auto start and rebooting the machine.
