There are no WhitePapers or Progress Solutions that can provide that information.
Each customer's requirements for the end user are a little different and is also dependant upon how the application was written.
The product has become so complex that it is impossible to determine which files may or may not be required for an application.
The application provider must determine what will or will not be required for the end user and then do a custom install selecting the components and subcomponents required to support the application.
