GOAL:
Can an OS/400 backup image be made (via operating system utilities) and restored to another machine without installing the Progress/400 DataServer product?
FACT(s) (Environment):
OS/400 V4R5
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress/400 DataServer
FIX:
Progress Software does not recommended nor support an OS image copy without a product installation. Operating System backups can be used, however, the product must be installed first before the restore of the image can be done.
Suggestion: Install Progress/400 DataServer onto new machine. Create a backup of the schema server library and db2 library [physical and logical files] from existing server and restore the backup libraries onto the new server.
