Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
SYMPTOM(s):
winzip self-extractor
can't create output file c:\program files\probuild
CAUSE:
The Service Pack file was downloaded and when an attempt was made to unpack the enclosed file into the current Progress installation directory it overwrote files within the Progress directory and corrupted the installation.
FIX:
Uninstall Progress 9.1D
Re-Install Progress 9.1D
Do not download the Progress Service Pack into the Progress installation directory.
Download the Progress Service Pack into a temporary folder.
Make sure all Progress related programs are stopped.
Then run the self-extracting archive program and that should automatically launch the Install Shield application right after to continue the Service Pack installation.
If it does not automatically launch the Install Shield application then run the setup.exe in the temporary folder you extracted the Service Pack files.
