SYMPTOM(s):
Service Pack installation fails after clicking setup.exe
CAUSE:
The installation instructions for the 9.x Service Packs indicate that the Self-Extracting file should be placed in a directory outside of the Progress Installation.
FIX:
When downloading a service pack do not download it to your Progress installation directory. The Service Pack should be downloaded into a temporary folder outside of the Progress installation.
The Self-Extracting archive should be run to unpack it.
The Service Pack Setup.exe program should be run at this point.
It is recommended that the option to backup files be used to allow for the possibility of quick removal of the Service Pack, but this is not absolutely necessary.
