SUMMARY:
Ping is a new feature in WebSpeed commercial release 1.0 and
is also available in WebSpeed 2.x. This is a built-in test
and not an executable. Ping verifies that your Broker is up and running and that the port you are using is the same as the Port
option in the WebSpeed Transaction Broker configuration file.
It also returns the default directory and the complete propath that
is set in the Dos Startup section of your Progress.ini file.
EXPLANATION:
To run ping you would add this to the end of your URL
ex:
http://marsntsrv/cgi-bin
t.wsc/PING
Results when broker is running:
****The Webspeed Dispatcher is running.
****Default Directory: c:\gpi
****Web object path (PROPATH):
.,c:\webspeed,c:\temp,c:\wsrt
Results when the broker is not running or the port does not
match your configuration file:
****WebSpeed error from messenger process
Failure connecting to Webspeed Transaction Broker!
Verify the broker has been started.
Verify the specified port number is the same as the
"Port" option in the Webspeed Transaction Broker
configuration file. Error -66.
