SYMPTOM(s):
Browser has 1 space between columns when viewed in character mode
SPACE(0) does not remove the space between the columns
Same browser does not display the space in GUI
CAUSE:
There is no way to prevent the single space between two fields from being displayed. The single space is there as a separator. Without it, the data would not look right. In GUI, there is a vertical line being displayed instead of the space.
FIX:
In character mode, SEPARATORS can be displayed instead of the blank spaces.
Use the WITH SEPARATORS option in the DISPLAY statement to see a vertical bar instead of the space.
