Passing a long OS command to INPUT/OUTPUT THROUGH VALUE() statement in 4GL
CAUSE:
Known issue.
The limit of a command line passed to INPUT/OUTPUT THROUGH VALUE() has been increased from 126 characters to 226 in 9.1D and there is currently no plan to increase it above.
FIX:
Upgrade to 9.1D or switch to UNIX/Linux where the limit is 31991 characters.
