FACT(s) (Environment):

Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000

SYMPTOM(s):

The Progress title bar is not visible when switching a character client application to Full Screen.

CAUSE:

Character clients run in a simulated DOS environment in Windows. Therefor it will not be possible to resize and maximize these windows as if they were an ordinary window. When switching to full screen (ALT-ENTER) you will be dropped into a DOS environment, in which the Windows title bar is not a part of. These are Windows limitations.

FIX:

An approximation to a maximized DOS window can be achieved by changing the properties of the DOS window as follows:

1) Run the Progress Character Client session in the manner it is set up (every situation is different).

2) Right-mouse click on the session's title bar and click on "Properties".

3) Increase the "Screen Buffer Size" and the "Window Size" to the same values for the Width and the Height in the "Layout" tab and/or change the font sizes in the "Font" tab to increase the window size. This requires some experimentation to get the right values for your specific situation.

4) Click on "OK" to apply the changes.

5) When prompted, select "Modify shortcut which started this window".

6) Close.

7) Restart the Character Client session.
