SYMPTOM(s):
Client machine is Windows 95
Problem establishing network connection (-S -H -N)
Could not connect to server for database <DATABASE>, errno 0. (1432)
Issue is the same using port number and IP address
ipconfig on the server shows IP address is correct
Client Networking installed on client machines
No firewall involved
Connects ok from Windows 98 client
Port scan results show ports are alive
CAUSE:
9.1D requires Windows 95 SP1 and also the Windows Socket 2 update - not applied.
FIX:
Apply SP1 and also the Windows Socket 2 update, both available from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/wuadmintools/s_wunetworkingtools/w95sockets2/default.asp
