SYMPTOM(s):
SYSTEM ERROR: Attempt to define too many indexes. (40)
CAUSE:
The Maximum file size allowed for the user is being exceeded.
FIX:
Increase the Maximum file size for the user.
To verify that the limit is being exceeded, look at the maximum file size defined for the user -- use the "ulimit -a" command for most UNIX systems.
