10,000 FOR EACH loop takes
. 12,000 ms against Oracle table
. 6,000 ms against (original) Progress table

CAUSE:

More disk space and CPU are needed for an Oracle DataServer application than a Progress application.

FIX:

Have a more powerful machine.

On a bi-processor machine with 4Go RAM, the same FOR EACH loop took 3,200 ms with both Oracle and Progress tables.
