Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
Microsoft Access 98/2000/2002
SYMPTOM(s):
Ms Access marks wrong index as primary index (you can see this by looking at design properties of the query) for a linked Progress table
Ms Access always chooses alphabetically first unique index as primary index
CAUSE:
This is a known bug in Microsoft Access, see Q207745 in Microsoft knowledge base at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;207745.
The problem occurs against any SQL database, not only Progress.
FIX:
As a work around, either rename you indexes so that the primary index is alphabetically the first unique index or define your query as SQL Pass-Through (see solution P57924). You may like to contact Microsoft for information on fixing schedule of this bug.
