Using terminal emulation
FIX:
The latency in the link via satellite is a network issue, and is not something that Progress would directly influence.
Trying to set local echo will not help - see Progress not inheriting the terminal stty -echo setting from parent shell
If PCs with terminal emulation are being used, and not just dumb terminals, then a client-server configuration might allow some performance improvement, since clients would have Progress running locally. The correct licenses would have to be installed though - if this were to be a possible option, please discuss this with your account manager at Progress.
