Oracle error 1841 see Oracle error msgs & codes manual 1252
The Oracle error messages and codes manual describe Oracle error 1841
as:
(full) year must be between -4713 and +4713
Cause: A date specified a year that is not in the valid date range.
A valid date range is any date between January 1, 4712 B.C and
December 31, 4712 A.D.
Action: Enter a valid date value between 4712 B.C and 4712 A.D.
Oracle version 7.1 and below has the above year range restriction.
The Oracle dataserver prior to the patch version listed below when
used with Oracle 7.1 (and below) will store the year in the Oracle
database as 4712 or -4712; if the user entered
year > 4712 or < -4712 as a year respectively.
After the specified patch version (and above) the Oracle dataserver
when used with Oracle 7.1 (and below) will return the following error
message:
Oracle error -1841 see "Oracle Error Messages & Codes Manual" (1252)
(full) year must be between -4713 and +4713
and the transaction will be rolled back if the user attempts to
supply a date out of range.
This change in the Oracle dataserver is to support Oracle's
version 7.2 requirement which did not have this date range
restriction.
Platform Patch version to support Oracle 7.2 requirement
UNIX 7.3C12 and 7.3D04
WINDOWS 7.3D04, 8.0Axx and 8.1xx
