GOAL:
Does a schema add require the bi file to be truncated?
GOAL:
Does the bi file need to be truncated before performing a schema addition?
FIX:
In version 8.2A and above the bi file does not need to be truncated before performing a schema addition due to the introduction of fast schema add. Fast Schema Add limits the amount of bi growth during a schema add.
In version of Progress prior to 8.2A a bi truncation was recommended before performing schema changes to avoid hitting the 2GB limit of the bi file.
