Installing personal oracle on win95 gives dll problems

DRAFT COPY - Currently under review and edit.

INTRODUCTION:
=============
After installing Personal Oracle on windows 95 there can be problems
connecting to Oracle with the Progress dataserver. The errors seem to
indicate that there is a DLL missing. The fact is that Oracle changed
the name of the DLL we are looking for.

The errors are:

2011: Could not connect to "schema-name"
Could not load Oracle library. Dataserver not started
(2011)

1484: <name> DataServer initialization error. (1484)

1451: Failed to connect to ORACLE database . (1451)

These errors occur after installing the Oracle product from the win95
directory on the installation CD.

To solve this problem you need to run the install procedure from the
Oracle CD that is in the WINDOWS directory. This routine will install
older DLL files (I assume they are on the CD for backward
compatibility) that Progress can use.

After this, the problem should be solved.
