(2002) could not find name in NETPATH how to avoid?
DRAFT COPY - Currently under review and edit.
INTRODUCTION:
=============
Some System V machines show a different behaviour on the proserve
command.
WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:
===========================
On most machines a broker can be started as follows:
"proserve demo -S demo" meaning this uses tcp as default protocol
and listens to the port assigned to demo in /etc/services.
If you get the following error message:
Couldn't find name <name> on any network in /etc
etconfig or
NETPATH (2002)
PROCEDURAL APPROACH:
====================
Startup as follows:
proserve demo -S demo -H localhost -N tcp
So write out all parameters inclusive -H and -N
Brokers will then start succesfully.
ONLINE PROCEDURES OR UTILITIES:
