SYMPTOM(s):
Database shutdown with corruption errors
<function>:Unknown O/S error during <system call>, errno <error number>, fd <file descriptor>, len <bytes>, offset <bytes>, file <file-name>. (6092)
bkioread:Unknown O/S error during Read, errno 5, fd <file descriptor>, len <bytes>, offset <bytes>, file <db-extent>. (6092)
Corrupt block detected when attempting to release a buffer. (4232)
SYSTEM ERROR: error reading file <db-extent>, ret = -1" (6071)
SYSTEM ERROR: wrong dbkey in block. Found <dbkey1>, should be <dbkey2> (1124)
Dbrpr did not detect any corrupt blocks.
CAUSE:
Hardware corruption of some description.
Due to dbrpr producing no errors, the database has come out clean which means that the block was correct on harddisk but has been corrupted on the way to memory.
The most likely sources of this kind of corruption is a fault harddisk controller or faulty memory.
FIX:
Contact your hardware vendors and have them check the hardware for faults.
Note that checking hardware logs is NOT enough as they often come out clean when in fact there is an underlying fault, you must have them perform low level testing of the components.
