Alternative method of backing up database - VMS

Alternative method of backing up the database on VMS:
-----------------------------------------------------

This method requires after-imaging be turned on.

Recommend VMS BACKUP database related files weekly.

VMS backup the ai file nightly, then start new ai file.

If cost is an issue, their best solution may be to
enable after-imaging. This way they only need to backup
the ai file every night

The following steps are taken out of the VMS System
Administration course notes.

Doing Scheduled Backups
-----------------------

1. Stop PROGRESS (PROGRESS command)

2. Check that the database is not in use (PROG/UTIL=BUSY)

3. Truncate bi files (PROGRESS command)

4. Backup db, bi and lg files (VMS BACKUP)

5. Backup ai file on different media (VMS BACKUP)

6. Mark the database backed up (PROGRESS command)

7. Start new ai file (PROGRESS command)

8. Start PROGRESS with after-imaging
