When will Progress support Oracle 9i on AIX?
GOAL:
What are the plans for OpenEdge 10 to support Oracle 9i on AIX?
FIX:
As of today (including OpenEdge 10.0A) Progress does not support Oracle 9i 32-bit/64-bit client on AIX. The reason for this is because there is no Oracle 9i 32-bit client release on AIX, hence there is no 32-bit Oracle DataServer support for Oracle 9i 32-client on AIX.
Oracle has released Oracle 9i 64-bit client, however these libraries will not be supported by Progress until a 64-bit OpenEdge product is released.
