FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress AS400 Dataserver
Progress 7.3x
CAUSE:
When trying to start a TCP/IP broker with STRPRONET the user receives a message like "Text is not available for message SYS3450 in PRO4MSG", it means that there is something wrong with TCP/IP on the AS/400.
FIX:
Check the following:
1. That the network card is installed
2. The line is ACTIVE (with WRKCFGSTS *LIN)
3. TCP/IP started properly (with WRKCFGSTS *CTL).
