SYMPTOM(s):
Windows 2000 and XP clients get errors (1432) and (2605) when running report builder in an attempt to preview or print a report.
Unable to initialize database engine.
Could not connect to the server for database <dbname> errno = 0 (1432)
Already logged out of Embedded SQL Interface. Request ignored. (2605)
Windows 98 running the same application has no problem.
Running the same process from these clients to a different database in the same directory runs fine.

CAUSE:
A .pf file called was created in the wrong directory.
FIX:
Place the .pf file in the expected directory.
