Report Builder - Number of users on license to run Engine
Question:
A company has a 5 user Progress license, all 5 users connect to the
database through the application. All 5 users must also have a
second connection to the database in order to run the Report Engine.
This creates a total of 10 database connections.
Does the company need a 10 user Progress license?
Answer:
Starting October 1, 1995 the number of users is not counted by the
number of database connections. The number of users is determined
by the number of physical display devices being used. As long as the
application database connection and the report engine database
connection are on the same PC, it only counts as one user.
The 5 user license will allow the 10 database connections. The company
does not need to change their license.
