GOAL:

Where does Progress Explorer store its settings.

FIX:

The Progress Explorer is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) application.
It stores its settings in files with an extension of .msc

Depending on the operating system you are running Progress on (Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, etc.) the version of MMC you use may vary.

If your version of MMC is:
MMC 2.0 then we will store information in the proexp12.msc. This will be located in your user profiles directory.
MMC 1.2 then we will store information in the proexp12.msc located in the DLC directory.
MMC 1.1 then we will store information in the proexp11.msc located in the DLC directory.
MMC 1.0 then we will store information in the proexp.msc located in the DLC directory.

In Windows NT 4.0 there have been reports that when using MMC 1.2 it may be necessary to rename the proexp11.msc to a different name such as orig-proexp11.msc and then copy the proexp12.msc to the name proexp11.msc.
